I was talking with my mom and I decided that I would spend the next year celebrating as many holidays and occurrences as possible. I think there are around 300 holidays a month!
My mom and I have always loved all the peculiar holidays and have had many laughs discussing them. I think this year will be a lot of fun but it will also require a lot of dedication, time, and it wont be without costs. I will give you once a week up dates once I get it started (Probably next month) and I will post daily journalings as often as possible. I have a feeling I will be rather busy.
I am home schooled which I believe will make this a whole heap easier, but also more challenging. Mom made an agreement with me... For this year I will use this as a lot of my school work. I will be writing reports on many of these days and I will be doing loads of research. I look forward to this coming year and I hope you will enjoy following my blog.
Feel free to post your comments along the way.

Nothing like a Dame day

My mom had me get the movie South Pacific from the library for this one. I'm not sure why she did...I guess I have to watch it to find out!

Elise Island family History day

For Elise Island Family History day I read an article in the magazine Good Old Days from April 2001!
So it's a rather old Article but I still learned a bit about Elise Island!
Happy Elise Island Family History day!

Bat Appreciation day

Why Appreciate bats? Well, who likes mosquitoes? and moths? Without bats there would be a whole lot more of them around, and more, the two I listed aren't the only ones they eat! They help prevent many diseases that the blood sucking bugs carry.
Okay now, who likes Bananas? Peaches? how bout Almonds? Not all bats eat bugs, some eat fruit, and when they're eating the fruit they are actually pollinating. Certain fruits and nut trees can only be pollinated by bats. So without bats we'd have no Bananas, Peaches, almonds, and many more!
And these aren't the only reasons bats are awesome! Check out this website for more info on bats!
I appreciate bats.

National Haiku Poetry day

A Haiku poem is a three lined poem. The first line has five syllables the second has seven and then the last has five again!
I wrote a Haiku!
I just love to be
Celebrating Holidays
It is very fun!
I know, it's lame!

Ford Mustang day

We had to celebrate this one yesterday cause our shop is open today so we couldn't leave the house.
So we went to a car dealer yesterday to check out a mustang. Dad was very excited at the chance to drive it! I was unimpressed with it, it's just a car! I would much rather ride Levi (Tracy's Mustang)! The car had a lot more gadgets than a saddle!
Happy Ford Mustang day!
